 ALL ITEMS BEING SENT BY CUSTOMERS AND OTHER STORES
 MUST FIRST BE CALLED IN, OTHERWISE THE REPAIR WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

Common replacement parts: light bulbs, track pins,
lockons & traction tires are available through the Service Center.
 All other train & accessory PARTS are NOT available over the counter.

We Provide The Following Services:

Warranty Repairs:
 Refer to Manufacturers Warranty Instructions.
Most warranty repairs are completed in our Service Department.
An Original Sales Receipt Must Accompany All Warranty Work. 

 

Prewar & Postwar Trains & Accessories:
 $50.00 / hour + parts  (Minimum 2 hours required for most refurbishments)

Locomotives are dismantled completely.
If needed, all locomotive parts are individually cleaned thoroughly using a state-of-the-art
ultra-sonic cleaner and free of all oil, grease and dirt.
Worn or broken parts are replaced with OEM parts or exact reproduction parts.
 Please allow 1—6 months for complete refurbishments.

 

1970-Current Production Trains & Accessories:
 Labor is $50.00/ hour + parts
 

Please allow 1—6 months for labor-intensive repairs and occasional part shipping delays.

All MTH DCS Systems purchased at JR Junction are upgraded
with latest MTH codes free of charge.
All others, will be charged a upgrade fee of $9.95

 

Our Service Center Is Also An
Authorized MTH Proto-Sound 2.0 Upgrade Center
 All accepted upgrade jobs are $350.00 per locomotive (includes MTH Proto-Sound 2.0 Upgrade kit & labor)
 Miscellaneous parts needed that are not included in MTH PS 2.0 Upgrade kit is charged extra.

Now operators can enjoy Proto-Sound 2.0 in older M.T.H. locomotives outfitted with M.T.H.'s original Proto-Sound sound and control system by having Proto-Sound 2.0 installed.

Each kit consists of a Proto-Sound 2.0 circuit board, a coil wound Proto-Coupler, various wire harnesses, new speaker, new rechargeable batteries, new mounting brackets, and headlight and backup light bulbs. The kits are factory warranted for 90 days when installed by JR Junction Train & Hobby.  Each kit will require programming of a sound set prior to operation. The sound sets are downloaded by our technicians at no additional charge.

Virtually all features found in factory equipped Proto-Sound 2.0 locomotives are included in the Proto-Sound 2.0 Upgrade Kit. These include conventional and command mode Proto Speed Control, full Ps2 digital sound effects, DCS command features, conventional and command mode Proto-Coupler operation, conventional and command mode synchronized puffing smoke on locomotives equipped with fan driven M.T.H. smoke units, self recharging battery backup system and operating headlight control.

M.T.H. strongly encourages consumers to utilize the Authorized Service Center for installation of the Proto-Sound 2.0 upgrade kit. As M.T.H. has long cautioned, upgrading a locomotive to Proto-Sound 2.0 requires significant rewiring of the locomotive, installation of new mounting brackets, soldering and careful wire management to prevent pinched wires that could damage the circuit boards.

  • Software Upgradeable Design - enhance locomotives with new features or sounds as they are created.
  • 90-Day Limited Warranty - only when installed by JR Junction's factory trained technicians.
